Reading and Writing Using the Carden play names, we teach the names and sounds of the letters. Beginning sounds and final sounds. How to hold a pencil. Printing lower case letters. Pre-reading skills
Spelling The purpose of the Carden Spelling Method is to teach children to listen to a word, break it down into its individual sounds, and construct the word sound by sound. We focus on the sounds of the letters.
Literature Read and discuss Nursery Rhymes and Carden created materials
Mathematics Counting the days of the week and month. Counting to add objects. Learning to make numerals 1-9. Finding missing numbers.
Science The Five Senses, Hibernation, Butterflies, Weather, Nutrition, Hygiene, Safety, and Plants.
Social Studies Community Helpers -- Firemen, Policemen, Paramedics, Mailmen
French

Counting, colors, songs, rhymes, phrases and simple objects.

Art, Music and PE Art: Drawing, painting, and various art activities Music: Development of rhythmic skills.
PE: The students participate in a structured PE class for 20 minutes each day with activities,
games, and simple exercises.
